The Self Help Center/Family Law Facilitator can’t be your attorney, but they can help with paperwork and process for family law issues, small claims court, and other issues.

See information on workshops here. The Family Law Facilitator's Office offers assistance on LiveChat or in person at the Martinez location: 751 Pine Street, Martinez, CA 94553.

  • LiveChat assistance: Tuesday-Friday from 1pm to 4pm.
  • Drop-in assistance: Monday-Friday from 8am to 11:30am.
  • Lobby appointments for family law litigants are available to schedule online Monday-Friday from 12:30pm to 4pm.
  • DCSS drop in hours: Tuesday-Friday from 12:30pm-4pm. Sign in at Window 7 or 8.

Process

Drop-in for support.

Even though the wait can be long, there are a mix of attorneys, paralegals, and other court volunteers to either help you immediately, or to schedule a follow-up appointment and/or a workshop.

Collect key information in advance if possible: case numbers, names of key people, court dates and deadlines, documents related to the issue, and any questions you have.
