The Self Help Center/Family Law Facilitator can’t be your attorney, but they can help with paperwork and process for family law issues, small claims court, and other issues.
Ways to Contact
Free legal self-help services are available to the public in English and Spanish. The Legal Self Help Center offers in-person and remote services according to the following schedule:
- In person drop-in services: Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30am-12pm (arrive by 10:30am to ensure time for assistance).
- Email services: selfhelp@marin.courts.ca.gov; Monday through Friday from 8:30am-3:00pm
- Phone hours: 415.444.7130; Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:30am-12:00pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-3:00pm

Process
Drop-in for support. Confirm hours in advance.
Even though the wait can be long, there are a mix of attorneys, paralegals, and other court volunteers to either help you immediately, or to schedule a follow-up appointment and/or a workshop.
Notes
Collect key information in advance if possible: case numbers, names of key people, court dates and deadlines, documents related to the issue, and any questions you have.
