The Public Defender represents anyone with active criminal cases or warrants in its county who cannot afford a private attorney. If you have questions related to criminal actions in another county, you should to contact the public defender’s office in that county.

Call 209.468.2730 and ask for your attorney or an attorney of the day (your attorney may be in court, and any attorney in the office can answer most questions). This is a privileged call!
