Description
Centro Legal’s tenants rights program provides assistance on most housing issues throughout Alameda County and Contra Costa County. They cannot assist with disputes between tenants, roommates, or neighbors, or with inter-family issues at any clinic. They can only serve tenants who meet Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Income Limits. Proof of income may be required to receive services. The goals of the program are to stop displacement, maintain neighborhoods, and stabilize communities. All tenants arriving to clinics will receive a brief consultation with a Centro Legal staff member. An attorney will review each tenant’s situation, offer advice, and provide a referral to an extended services appointment, if necessary.

Centro holds numerous clinics to assist with housing issues. Email tenantsrights@centrolegal.org (Alameda County tenants) or cctr@centrolegal.org (Contra Costa tenants) or call 510.437.1554 to register for upcoming clinics and workshops.
Note that clinic schedules are subject to change. Call the office to confirm the clinic schedule prior to attending.

After you confirm clinic date/time, attend clinic in-person. At the clinic you will receive information, advice, and brief services. Some clients may receive extended services following the clinic.
Notes
Collect key information in advance if possible: case numbers, names of key people, court dates and deadlines, documents related to the issue, and any questions you have.
