Description

This is the Bar Association’s program for low-income Alameda County residents. They host a number of workshops and clinics, including bankruptcy, low-income landlords, family law, and a Vietnamese community clinic.

Ways to Contact

Legal Access Alameda now runs a legal drop-in monthly clinic remotely, called the Community Legal Assistance Saturday Program (CLASP). Clients can receive a 15-20 minute free consultation with an attorney on almost any legal issue. The legal clinic typically runs the first Saturday of the month from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Call (510) 485-9933. You must go through intake to be scheduled for an attorney consultation.

Process

During the initial call, Bar Association staff will do an intake to determine what type of help you need. They will connect you with one of Legal Access Alameda's programs, if appropriate.

Notes

Collect key information in advance if possible: case numbers, names of key people, court dates and deadlines, documents related to the issue, and any questions you have.
