ACLU of Northern California

The ACLU does not take on many individual clients and typically represents clients on notable civil rights/liberties cases only. They only handle matters arising within Northern California, from the Oregon border south to Monterey and Inyo counties. They do not handle cases outside this region and generally do not assist with criminal defense or post-conviction appeals, family law/child custody, property disputes/building code issues, tax problems, landlord-tenant issues, complaints about lawyers or judges, denial of workers’ compensation or unemployment benefits, or employment matters.
