ACLU of Northern California: Legal Counseling Line
The ACLU does not take on many individual clients and typically represents clients on notable civil rights/liberties cases only. They do not handle cases outside this region and generally do not assist with criminal defense or post-conviction appeals, family law/child custody, property disputes/building code issues, tax problems, landlord-tenant issues, complaints about lawyers or judges, denial of workers’ compensation or unemployment benefits, or employment matters.
