Description
The Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) primarily assists with SSI, SSDI, and housing issues for clients who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, with a focus on people with mental disabilities. The Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) provides legal and supporting social services to individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. They prioritize individuals who have mental health disabilities and families. The most common issues they address are federal disability benefit advocacy, eviction defense, SSI advocacy, immigration documentation, and social service assistance, but they also may provide brief advice or referrals in many other areas.

Drop-in intake clinic for new clients is Tuesdays to Fridays 1:00-3:00pm. For intake: 125 Hyde Street (between Turk and Golden Gate).

Process
All intake and services require a drop-in intake first. After you drop in for intake, the organization will tell you next steps.
